Blind Men Touching an Elephant

Blind Men Touching an Elephant - Monument (Cultural China)

Last year in late October I was having lunch with a wonderful friend, and in hearing about what I had in mind for my documentary — she told me about the Blind Men Touching an Elephant story. The analogy could not be more perfect for my program. And later that afternoon she sent me this PDF link to a dissertation on teaching Chinese in American Chinese schools. Its author Xuan Weng provided two critical components to the animation that opens Act II — a link to the Blind Men Touching an Elephant story on Cultural China (which is where I got the picture below), as well as the yellow highlighted portion below that I combined with Cultural China’s quote to explain the idiom.

The Condi Cartoon was a masterpiece I stumbled across during my research. It was done by a cartoonist named Gregory Uchrin and it was pure gold for integrating into the elephant animation.
